While we handle a variety of financial matters, we specialize in two primary areas: (1) retirement planning and investment management for individuals and (2) pension and profit sharing plans for businesses. Our principals (Mike Hainer and Doug Burgdorf) have a unique set of qualifications that separates H&B Financial Group, Inc. from other financial planning firms. In addition to his numerous securities licenses, Mike Hainer is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School. Doug Burgdorf is a Certified Financial Planner™.
Mike has been the principal owner of Hainer & Berman, P.C., a business and estate planning law firm, for over 25 years. To provide more comprehensive services to his clients, Mike became securities licensed and formed Saber Financial Group, Inc in 2000. As the number of clients grew, Mike began working with Doug Burgdorf to add Doug’s considerable investment expertise to help better service our clients.
Doug has been involved with financial planning his since graduating from the University of Michigan 1994. Doug began his career working with NBD Bank, which became First Chicago NBD, and later Bank One. Doug initially worked in the retail side of the bank in management, including retail banking, personal and small business lending, and ultimately financial planning. Doug then started his own independent financial planning firm so that he could offer comprehensive financial planning services and choose from a wider variety of product offerings to his clients. Doug and Mike merged their two firms to form H&B Financial Group, Inc.
