I manage a UHNW practice for clients that are mature startup founders, retired Sr. Public company executives and other retired persons. Tax and estate planning are offered through third party professionals that I manage directly on behalf of my "family office" clients. With a small client base clients have a very custom and trust-based experience. While some clients are $2-3m many are 10m, 20m and closer to $100m of net-worth. About 15 households all managed with discretion.
I would hope to buy or absorb a practice to mentor and deliver more of these services to the right clients. Ideally, the bulk of clients are $2-3m plus. Advisors with assets could learn more about sophisticated strategies and earn more money upfront, and on a recurring basis. We do work on significant estate planning cases that usually require life insurance and appropriate alternative investment strategies.
