I just started my own RIA and am using a multi-pronged approach to raising AUM. I would like to supplement my sales effort with an acquisition. Given the LLC/RIA structure, I have ample flexibility to work with the acquiree to structure a payout/revenue share, have them remain as an employee, and handover the relationship on their schedule. We can also make an attractive offers to existing clients to keep retention levels high. I am 100% fee based and manage all-stock portfolios in-house. The ideal acquisition would also be fee-based and have existing clients invested similarly. Alternatively, portfolios of potential converts to fee-based, in-house, direct, active portfolio management of stocks will also be considered.
