I'm a relatively young CFP looking to grow my practice. I'm currently licensed in over 15 states, so working with clients remotely does not worry or scare me. I use eMoney as my financial planning tool, which is great for such a relationship.
I view my main benefit to my clients is my problem solving ability. While I'm fully capable of building portfolio's (asset allocation is beat into our heads from day one), I utilize a third party money manager for a growing number of my accounts. This is a relatively new addition to my business, so I'm still converting clients from A/C Share accounts into this model.
I do have a substantial amount of insurance business that I do, as I believe long term care insurance is a big component of retirement, or planning for living in retirement.
