Overview

Seeking to sell a multi-hundred million dollar book of business for cash (not earn out) and can finance the buyer for up to 10% of the value of the practice. Buyer must be able to secure bank financing for the balance. Seeking to remain with the practice for a transition period of 6-12 months before completely exiting business, during which time they will work in a consulting capacity and assist with client retention and new business development. Business valuation was done by FP Transitions and is slightly more than 1% AUM in part because I am paid a revenue rate multiplied times AUM. This is a practice for hunters, not farmers, and has been structured to scale to billions of AUM without dropping the ball on customer service. Goal for Branch is to get to $500 million AUM by year end 2020.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience and the Series 7, Series 66, Series 9 and Series 10 licenses, as well as a Life, Health and Variable Contracts license. Candidate must have demonstrable rainmaking track record. A CFP designation is optional, but preferable. The FC who will help with transition should have CFP certification by mid-2020.

The ideal candidate must be willing to affiliate with Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. and must be approved by this broker dealer to become an affiliate. Interested in candidates who are able to take over southern New Hampshire territory where the practice branch is located. This is a Charles Schwab franchise, so buyer must be approved by Schwab. The practice has a large addressable market (Double-digit billions) and above industry AUM growth trajectory (Averaged $55 million per year over 7 year existence.) Practice demographics are very good with only 10% of clients over 70. approximately 43% age 51 to 70. Practice delivers full spectrum of wealth management services. Practice has 37% inter generational relationships. Very sticky. Practice has Independent Branch Leader, two Financial consultants (one is moving to a hedge fund in 2020), and a part-time Registered Client Service Specialist. Part of the sales proceeds will be used to retain one key Financial Consultant for longer continuity. CSS is very smart and polished. Good first impression for the clients. Clients are appreciative of what we do for them.
