Overview

I am seeking to sell a half billion+ dollar book of business for $3 million cash (not earn out). The buyer must be able to secure bank financing for the balance, and must have a very strong personal balance sheet (not investors). Do not apply if you do not have significant after-tax liquid assets that can be used for a down payment and other expenses.

I will remain with the practice for a transition period of 6-12 months before completely exiting the business, during which time I will work in a consulting capacity and assist with client retention and new business development. This is a practice for "hunters," not "farmers," and has been structured to scale to billions of AUM without dropping the ball on customer service. The branch has grown from $367 million at end of March 2019 to $510 million AUM at end of August 2020. Asset growth appears to be accelerating, and the branch is in its infancy with multiple billions in future AUM very possible based on current territory penetration. The branch was formally valued by FP Transitions in 2019.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience and the Series 7, Series 66, Series 9 and Series 10 licenses, as well as a Life, Health and Variable Contracts license. Candidate must have a demonstrable rainmaking track record. A CFP designation is optional, but preferable, as our practice goal is for every client to have a "written" financial plan. The branch currently employs one full-time Financial Consultant (who will sit for the CFP test in the Spring 2021) and a part-time Associate Financial Consultant, as well as the Independent Branch Leader. The practice plans to add a part-time or full-time Client Service Specialist, as the AFC was promoted from this role. The FC and AFC would like to remain with the branch and help retain the clients.

The ideal candidate must be willing to become a franchisee of Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. and must be approved by this broker dealer to become an affiliate. I am interested in candidates who are able to take over a southern New Hampshire territory where the practice branch is located. If you have an existing practice, your clients must be transitioned to Charles Schwab. This is a Charles Schwab franchise, so the buyer must be approved by Charles Schwab and pay a franchise fee. The practice has a large addressable market (double-digit billions) and above-industry AUM annual growth trajectory. The practice demographics are very good with only 10% of clients over 70. approximately 43% age 51 to 70. We deliver a full spectrum of wealth management services. The practice has 37% inter- generational relationships. While the territory is located in southern NH, clients reside in over 40 states due to strong referral flow from existing clients. The buyer is expected to report to the branch daily, and therefore must be located (or relocated) to the greater Nashua, NH area.
