50 years old CFP hybrid IAR with $130m AUM in a 99% fee-based private practice has no partner or succession plan. Looking for long term succession plan or maybe a junior partner for a team based scenario with shared assets/clients. Ideal person would have a small book to bring over and take over in-bound business development. Proposed compensation could be salary plus production payout or just salary or just payout. I'm wide open to a structure that benefits all. Current business development program generates 60-70 leads per month to be used to continue to grow AUM in a team environment. I've simply got too many leads and not enough time! Not ready to retire, but I need to start thinking about it. Current/primary custodian is LPL. Perfect candidate might be a young CFP a few years into the industry that is tired of outbound marketing to build a book that could work together towards a succession plan in 5-10 years.
