Overview

I work with a boutique RIA with nearly $400MM of total AUM and my business is predominantly fee-based with a bit of insurance based planning (life, disability and long-term care) sprinkled in when appropriate. My book is a mix of traditional AUM and 401(k)s, totaling approximately $75MM as of end of August 2021. We have two in-house portfolio managers which presents a unique value proposition to clients, in that they have not only direct access to their advisor from a planning perspective, but also the actual portfolio manager. With a planning first approach, we tend to be a bit more holistic in our client interactions, based on the feedback we've received from clients in comparing to their prior advisor/firm relationships.

My average client age is 49, with a net worth above $1M and my goal with this site, is to identify a book with similar characteristics that an advisor is looking to sell or retire from, while staying on for a period of time, to ensure a smooth transfer and high client retention.
