Overview

In 2001, I liquidated my life savings and took out a 2nd/3rd mortgage on my home to capitalize a new broker called Equity Risk Partners, Inc. I built that broker to $15+ million of revenue, 45 employees, and 4 offices. I sold it to Hub in 2016 for an excellent outcome for shareholders.

I am now backed by a $2.0+ billion private equity firm to build a new retail brokerage platform called Symphony Risk Solutions. I am very interested in finding a platform(s) agency/broker to use as the foundation for executing this new strategy. Our ideal platform would be east of the Rockies and west of the Poconos; $5.0+ million in revenue. We will work with owners interested in growing their business and participating in the equity appreciation of our new platform, as well as owners interested in stepping out of the business. We are happy to consider slightly smaller firms or firms that are further east. Due to legal restrictions with Hub, we cannot operate in California prior to 2021.

The Symphony model will blend traditional agency platforms with industry and product specialists. In addition to traditional agencies, we are interested in specialty agents/brokers who have a differentiated industry or product offering. For specialty firms, we are indifferent to size or location.
