My practice is fairly turnkey. Most clients have been with me for years and are very stable. They have a high degree of trust and a low churn rate. I enjoy interactions with clients as well as portfolio management. Unfortunately, I find myself doing less and less of either. My time is increasingly spent submitting forms, chasing down signatures, or complying with regulatory requirements. I don't have the economies of scale to hire out those duties, so I'm considering partnering with other advisers, buying another practice, even selling my practice. An ideal outcome would be to collaborate with other advisers & hire the necessary staff, such that each person could operate in activities where they are proficient and find it rewarding. Absent that, I will look at other options. My preference is to remain with LPL Financial as clearing B/D.
