Our firm has 4 partners. All of us are CPAs, two are CFPs, and one is a CA-licensed estate planning attorney. We offer combo tax/portfolio management/retirement modeling services to our clients. Our attorney can also be involved in estate planning design strategies (and drafting for CA clients). We are looking to purchase a practice where we could retain the seller (for continuity) for 1-3 years, and possibly also retain a solid operations / admin professional in place. Our firm has a robust compliance, trading, reporting, billing, portfolio management, and tax infrastructure which should allow us to offer a comparable and likely more comprehensive offering to a seller advisor's clients. Our portfolio management process involves in-house trading with Black Diamond using ETFs, individual stocks, and bonds. We also have access to a wide variety of vetted private investments for larger clients who are drawn to these products (although we don't push them hard on anyone). For very large clients, we can leverage Dimensional Funds SMAs with client-specific ESG screens. Softwares include: Black Diamond (trading, reporting, billing, client portal), Ycharts (investment research / proposals), Value-Line (investment research) eMoney (retirement modeling), Lacerte (tax), Citrix share file (secure document transfers), Riskalyze (portfolio risk scoring), Calendly (on demand meeting scheduling), Wealthbox CRM, and Office 365. We are well capitalized to make a purchase and also have access to investors / financing if needed over and above a deposit and seller-financing. We have already completed a successful acquisition from 2016-2020 with very minimal attrition. This seller would be happy to be a reference for us if desired. We also completed a successful merger in Aug'2020. Since that time, we have had organic growth going from $140M AUM in Aug'2020 to ~$500M as of Sep'2023. This is a testament to the truly integrated tax/wealth management services which clients have loved.
